Sea Shell Stories

The Red Sea Project objective is creating a modern, sustainable and luxury destination that is environmentally friendly and protective of its landscape, local community, wildlife and marine life.

For the World Travel Market 2019 in London/UK our brief focussed on environmental responsibility and a high-impact, luxurious and memorable presentation of the organization and the project. The stand should be realized with sustainable materials (“reuseable/recyclable – we are 100% against ‘single-use’ plastics”) that still reflect a high sense of luxury.

If there is one object that encapsulates the Red Sea and the Hejaz region in general, it is the seashell.

Source of stories, beauty and riches, what better symbol to represent the Red Sea Project than the form of a seashell, capturing the sound of the ocean and the wind of the lands and gently pulling visitors into its center.

The progressively curved wall, made from kinetic wooden panels that can be interacted with, displays an artful landscape of the local environment. From the rugged mountains it slopes down the dunes to the coast where it meets the islands, the waves of the ocean and the wind.

With the way the agamographic structure was planned out, the stand would always maintain its openness and interact with the surrounding stands at World Travel Market.

Two-storied, it provided ample space for meeting rooms, areas to network and to find out more about the Red Sea Project while mood projections and various interactive screens would amplify everything the regiopn has to offer.
